It's almost one-thirty-am and I am typing here.
Oh what an exciting, unemployed life I lead.
Yeah, I'm still not working. I'm good with that though, EI is still treating me nicely, although thanks to spending Christmas in Ontario, this last week's cheque will not be as generous. I continue to spend my days trying new recipes, playing my play station 2, googling random things online when they pop into my head and now my newest sensation: yoga.
In 2003, it was pilates (blah), then the year after that it was cardio dance dvds (still have, less motivated to do). Then in 2005 I gave up those and tried to go to the gym at the university, which I soon gave up because of the annoyance of having to go back and forth to get my stuff. Eventially it just became easily to sit at home, which I've done for the past few Januarys.
For 2009, it is now yoga. The idea appealled to me because it appeared to be more of a stretching exercise rather than a strenuous exercise. A couple months ago, I borrowed an exercise dvd from the library that had something to do with abs, butts and legs and it completely murdered me. I stupidly pushed myself hard through the whole 45 minutes and in the end, I collapsed on the couch in a twitchy, sweaty mess. I was stiff and sore for 4 days and that ended that fad for me.
I am now into my 4th day in my new yoga dvd and it's now safe to say that I am honestly feeling the pain. Possibly because there seems to be more weight-loss to my dvd rather than the other ones with pretty music, scenic backgrounds and a lot of people humming and hawing. Plus all the movements are about balance, which I have none, so it's a struggle not to fall over each time I have to move and reposition myself.
This is not what I get to deal with. Plus this position is a bitch for the arms if you hold it too long.
Plus it also helps that the people in the dvd were from season 6 of The Biggest Loser, which I got addicted to right after my job was finished in September and faithfully watched until mid December. Season 7 just started, but it is yet to really hook me so far.
