In a few weeks, I'll be hitting the wall of unemployment, something I have not faced since early April. The thought scares me only a little, considering that I've only had one day off in between the two shows that I've worked on (Dolan's Cadillac and Little Mosque Season 3) and frankly, I think that I could use a bit of a break. The only thing I worry about is boredom, seeing as how I like to keep myself busy and there is only so much one can do to stay amused and at home, since I'll be trying to save money.
So that is where happy, happy unemployment insurance comes in. I've been told to start applying now, since it takes a few weeks to kick in and I only have a week and 4 days left (3 paychecks - wheeee!). 25 weeks of my summer have been spent working my ass off in the film industry and I couldn't be happier that this happened so soon after (or rather before) school ended.
Now that I will be done work and that nothing seems to be on the horizon yet as of future projects, I can start working on other stuff. Trevor has expressed interest in getting a story proposal off the ground, so I've been looking it over. Other than that, I think I want to take a bit of a break from the film world. Get back into painting maybe. Clean up and re-do the apartment a bit, get myself back to my summer purchase of my PS2 and games. Maybe I'll get back into website building again, seeing as how I'll have a couple months off, since I don't see myself getting a "filler" job (aka non-film job) until after Christmas.
Until then, I will apply for sweet, sweet EI and if that works out, I will suckle on that for a little while.
